Idea Forge

What is this game?

Idea Forge is the earlier offline curated idea browser, separate from the later automatic IdeaForge CLI pipeline. It explores 36 authored mechanics across puzzle, action and strategy, with a concrete rule, loop, fun rationale, smallest prototype and design risk in each brief. A reproducible seed controls order while local history and favorites preserve ideas worth revisiting.

Rules & objectives

1. Generate from 12 puzzle, 12 action and 12 strategy briefs; story is optional and off by default.
2. The same library never repeats an idea and reports exhaustion when no eligible ideas remain.
3. Previous/Next revisit history; Keep saves favorites and View Kept filters them.
4. Changing genres or restarting preserves the library; this utility creates briefs rather than complete games.

How to play

• Click buttons, or select with arrows/controller and activate with Space/controller A.
• Up/Down jumps four buttons; Previous/Next, Keep and View Kept manage the library.
• K saves a checkpoint; L loads it; Escape pauses. Progress also autosaves.

Story & setting

This is a design utility. Generated briefs may optionally include story, but the browser itself has no narrative campaign.

Original human creation prompt

Create a utility that can create ideas for video games. Each idea must be centered on a totally unique, engaging, fun, and creative gameplay mechanic. There can be a story or not. It must be built in BlueEngine and published to BlueEngineGames once complete. Keep track of the issues with development to construct a robust feedback file for this game idea. Add this file to the BlueEngine repository so the game engine can improve on future runs

Original creation request, recovered verbatim from the author’s request history. This records the requested design; the implemented release is described above.
