Sway

What is this game?

Sway is a local music visualizer that turns decoded audio into evolving color and motion. Import a playlist and choose Automatic or six visual families, six palettes and Calm/Flow/Surge movement. Every listen receives a new seeded visual identity while songs stream from disk and remain local.

Rules & objectives

1. Imported files play in order and the playlist repeats. Adding more files appends without interrupting the current track.
2. Space pauses sound and motion together.
3. Unsupported or damaged tracks are skipped; if no track can play, the import screen reports an error.
4. There is no score, win condition or narrative campaign; waveform, spectrum, energy and onsets drive the visuals.

How to play

• O opens file selection; drag/drop imports one or more songs.
• Space pauses/resumes; Left/Right selects previous/next track; R creates a new look without restarting music.
• Escape/Tab/right click opens options; F fullscreen.

Story & setting

Original human creation prompt

Next create a music visualizer with this engine. Have a super simple file picker allowing a person to import 1 or multiple audio files. Have a variety of visualization options. Different shapes, colors, movements, etc. the idea is that not only should songs have their own unique visualizations, but listening to the same song should have different kinds of visualizations (different colors, shapes, etc). Hide the hud, but show what song is playing for 10 seconds in a discrete spot whenever a song is played Give it a short catchy name that makes sense. Once done, publish the project to the games repository and give your feedback notes to the engine so it can improve in the future
