Game guide
What is this game?
Tetris is a precise, minimal falling-block puzzle built with BlueEngine. A classic 10 by 20 centered playfield fills the native window, with only two clearly readable upcoming-piece previews above it. Arrange seven tetrominoes into complete horizontal rows, plan with the landing ghost and hold, and choose Marathon, a 40-line Sprint or a two-minute Ultra score attack.
Rules & objectives
- The playfield is ten columns by twenty visible rows, with two hidden rows. A complete horizontal row clears after a short flash and every row above it falls. A blocked spawn or remaining blocks in the hidden rows after a lock ends the run.
- Each shuffled bag contains all seven shapes once. The next two pieces appear as small previews above the board. Hold stores or swaps the current piece once per lock; a new piece enables hold again. The ghost outlines where a hard drop will land.
- SRS rotation tries standard wall and floor offsets. A grounded piece locks after 30 simulation ticks (half a second); successful grounded movement or rotation can reset that timer at most fifteen times. Left/right repeat begins after ten ticks and repeats every two ticks.
- Normal single/double/triple/four-row clears score 100/300/500/800 times the level. Three-corner T-spins score 400/800/1200/1600 for zero through three rows. Consecutive difficult clears gain a 50 percent back-to-back bonus; consecutive row-clearing pieces gain a growing 50-point combo bonus before the level multiplier. Emptying the board awards 3500 times level.
- Soft drops award one point per row; hard drops award two. Every ten cleared rows raises the level and speeds gravity. Marathon continues until top-out. Sprint wins at forty rows. Ultra completes after two active minutes and reports your score. Pausing stops the simulation and timer.
- R retries the selected mode. Selecting 1, 2 or 3, starts a fresh run. K saves and L loads through BlueEngine; normal play also restores automatic progress on the next launch.
- Gameplay displays only the centered board, the landing ghost and two next-piece previews. Score, line count and mode appear in the pause/result panel instead of permanent sidebars.
How to play
- Left/Right or A/D: move; Down or S: soft drop; Up or W: rotate clockwise; X: clockwise rotation; Z or Q: reverse rotation.
- Space: hard drop. C or either Shift: hold/swap. 1: Marathon; 2: 40-line Sprint; 3: two-minute Ultra.
- Enter or click starts from the launch panel. Esc pauses/resumes; R retries the current mode; K saves; L loads; M toggles sound; N toggles music; F or F11 toggles fullscreen.
- Controller: D-pad left/right or left stick moves; D-pad down soft-drops; D-pad up or North (Y/Triangle) hard-drops. South (A/Cross) rotates clockwise; East (B/Circle) reverses; West (X/Square) or either bumper holds. Start/Options starts or pauses/resumes; Back/Select retries; right-stick click cycles modes. Physical controller hardware has not been certified.

Original human creation prompt
Using the latest BlueEngine, create a high quality Tetris game. Once complete, publish to BlueEngineGames and add your development feedback to the engine for improvement
Presentation refinement requested by the user: "I want the board to be centered. Piece hints can be small and only show the next piece or two. I want the window to be mainly just the board, none of the extra boxes and data" Later refinements requested tighter margins, full D-pad controller support and a roomier 12x24 grid. The final refinement restores the classic 10x20 grid and enlarges the two next-piece previews.
